Located a short trip from London in Esher, Sandown Park stages 26 race days throughout the year, hosting both flat and jump seasons. Sandown Park offers one of the most idyllic locations and state of the art venues in racing today.
In 1995 the King George Chase did not run at Kempton Park because of snow and frost and was later run at Sandown Park in January 1996. Again in 2005 the King Geroge Chase was run at Sandown Park, this time because Kempton Park was closed for redevelopment.
